Wiring & Equipment
Structured Wiring and Equipment Rack
Every automation and theater project begins with structured wiring as a backbone. Structured wiring provides one or more centralized locations in the home where wiring for each future sub-system is located. This is usually the first phase of a project.
Capabilities of structured wiring include:
- Coaxial Cable (for Satellite TV, HDTV, Cable, Close Circuit Video cameras, etc.)
- CAT6 – computer (Ethernet) wiring, phone wiring, control panels, I/R distribution
- Whole house audio control and speaker wiring
- Low Voltage Wiring for routing Infrared Signals and controlling devices such as drapes and other automated systems.
BTA recommends one or more structured wiring closets depending on the size and complexity of the home. Equipment racks should be located near the structured wiring closets to facilitate whole house audio, video, networking, telephony, automation, and other equipment. BTA can design a system that will fit today’s needs while providing the ability to expand as the homeowners needs change.
